Unveiling the Artistic Vision: An Interview with Dvina Pesic

1.Can you share with us the journey of how you first began your painting career and what motivated you to pursue art professionally?

-I started to paint oil on canvas when i was 13 years old inspired by the greatest Salvador Dali and since then i continue to paint only oil developing my own technique of painting with spatula and fingers. I finished Philology and Master in Economy, i have been twice Olympian athlete in rifle shooting holding 37 national records in male and female categories, but still i can say my main profession is painting. I have had more then 20 major exhibitions around the world (www.divnapesic.com) and my biggest motivation are visitor's expressions about my artwork.

2. As an artist, what are some of the challenges you have encountered along the way, and how have you overcome them?

-   My first disappointment as an artist was when i was 18 and i receive 0 points at the painting exam for the Art Academy in Skopje, Macedonia, from where i come from. It was really frustrating for a young person at that time since i got high scores from the art professors from the Academy, but surprisingly they decided that there is not place for me there.That was my first time i experience injustice but likely my strong character didn't give up from painting and confront those who decided that I'm not talented artist by winning multiply times at the international art competitions and named the best abstract expressionist in the world by American Art Awards, juried  by 25 best galleries and museums in USA. Yet, my biggest success as an artist is the reactions from the thousands viewers about my artwork.

3. What emotions or messages do you aim to convey through your paintings, and how do you ensure that your audience connects with them?

  -3.Every period of my life connects with different topics and have different messages to share with the audience. I'm an artist who paints about life, love, hope, fight between good and evil, about cosmic metaphysical connection of the rational and irrational which is emotional link to the human and artistic experience.Thru my spiritual artistic journey i want to inspire humans to be counted on the good side of this world by making the right choices of existing on this planet. Even my art is not realistic I'm so overwhelmed when my audience feels the emotions, the messages and recognize the positive vibrations of my intense colored canvases.

4.Can you share your experience  to have your artwork exhibited at Art Expo New York 2024?

 -It was one of a kind experience to be part of Art expo New York 2024! I feed my soul with so many variety of unique art from amazing artist around the globe and my greatest success at this art fair were the visitor's excitements and so positive critic about my artwork from art curators, artists and art lovers who visited my solo booth!
